During this Seminar You Will Learn...
The Essential Skills to Level Up Your Jodo
- The 12 Fundamentals Movements of Japanese Staff Fighting and Self Defence
- How to use a 4 foot staff to parry, deflect, trap and control, strike, thrust, push and throw an attacker, from multiple directions and from multiple attacks
- How to cut and thrust, and block and deflect attacks with a Japanese Sword
- Detailed kata, working with a partner, to develop distance, timing, cooperation and communication along with realistic fighting skills and much more.
New Fun and Exciting Training Methods
Ueda Sensei is an innovative and exciting teacher who always brings unusual practice methods to her classes. Over the years she has taught us:
- Tenouchi (grip control) through dribbling basketballs
- Hasuji (blade alignment) through various striking drills.
- She has taught how to fold and make origami targets and her walking drills are like learning line dancing. 😀

We are pleased to announce as part of the 25th Anniversary of Kendo na hEireann celebration, the historic, 1st Jodo Seminar of Kayoko Ueda Sensei in Ireland, on 15th and 16th April 2023 in the Nagle Rice Hall, Marino Institute of Education, Griffith Avenue, Dublin 9, Ireland.
The Full Seminar includes full access to the seminar. Hot and cold meals are provided at cost at the canteen located onsite. Local B&B and hotel accommodation available at request.
